There are two main types of Waypoints available on AbaData 2.0, Waypoints and Waypoint signs.

As well, users have the ability to sort waypoints into groups which can be turned on and off independent of each other.  Certain groups, like Shared From Other Users, Un-Grouped and Common to Contract will be there by default.  Users can also create and name as many groups as they wish.

Using the Waypoints layer under Map Display allows users to create their own geographic markers on AbaData 2.0. Once a waypoint is created, it will show up on AbaData 2.0 when the Waypoint layer is checked on. The following image shows a waypoint hover on the map.

Different symbols are available for the Waypoints, depending on the type of marker point the user would like to represent. Double-clicking on the waypoint on the map will open the Waypoint Information screen, as shown in the following image.

The Information tab of the Waypoint Information screen allows the user to select a symbol for the waypoint to be represented on the map, set a waypoint number, date added, comments and even add a web link if desired.

The More Info tab will display the coordinates of the waypoint in several different coordinate systems (under the Coordinates heading) and will also allow the user to share the waypoint with another AbaData 2.0 user (using the Share With heading). Files can also be attached to Waypoints using the Attachments tab.

Waypoint signs

Waypoint signs are also turned on and off under the Waypoints section of Map Display. Similar to Waypoints, Waypoint Signs allow the user to add sign markers to AbaData 2.0, and feature similar tabs on the Waypoint Sign Information window that opens on a double-click.
