Spills & Complaints

The Spills and Complaints layer turns on a mapping layer showing LSDs where there was a product spill or complaint related to upstream oil and gas activity. A yellow triangle symbol with an exclamation mark inside will show up on the map at all LSDs where an incident was reported, as in the following image. The Spills/Complaints information is updated monthly.

The Information window for Spills/Complaints will show the complete information documented for the location selected, as in the previous image. In some cases, there may be more than one incident associated with a location. If this happens, the user can scroll through the window and view the information for all spills and/or complaints which have occurred historically at that location.

Under the More Info tab of the Spill/Complaint information window, the contact information for the licensees associated with the incidents at the location selected will be displayed. It is important to note that the licensees in relations to spills and complaints are the licensees associated with the events at the time of the incidents, and may not reflect the current ownership of the properties in question. Users can also attach documents to a spill or complaint by clicking on the Attachments tab.

Filters

Users can filter which spills and complaints show up on the map by using the Filters tab under the Spills & Complaints layer of Map Display. The Filters tab, as show below, allows filtering based on incident date, Licence number, Type or company.
